Branding methods

Seven ways to put your logo on it

The same logo reads differently printed, engraved, pressed or foiled. We will recommend the one that suits the material.

Screen printingAvailable for this product

Screen printing

Ink is pushed through a mesh stencil, one colour at a time, with a separate stencil for each colour.

The ink sits on the surface as a solid layer, so colours stay bright and consistent across the whole run, and the cost per piece drops quickly as quantities rise.

Best for
One or two flat colours on a large order
Good to know
Each colour needs its own screen, so gradients and photographs are not suitable.
Digital UV printingAvailable for this product

Digital UV printing

Your design is printed directly onto the surface and cured by ultraviolet light as it goes down.

It handles fine detail, gradients and photographic artwork without a separate screen for each colour, and layering can build a slightly raised, textured finish.

Best for
Detailed or full colour logos on flat surfaces
Good to know
With no screen setup, smaller runs stay economical.
UV transfer printing

UV transfer printing

Artwork is printed onto a thin transfer film, which is then pressed onto the product with heat and pressure.

The film follows the shape underneath, so it can cover curves, ridges and small round surfaces that a flat printer cannot reach.

Best for
Full colour on curved or uneven surfaces
Good to know
If your artwork wraps all the way around the product, ask us for a wrap check.
Laser engraving

Laser engraving

A focused laser removes a thin layer of the surface to reveal the material beneath.

No ink is used, so the mark cannot peel, scratch off or fade. On stainless steel it shows as a soft grey; on wood and leather it burns darker than the surrounding surface.

Best for
A permanent mark on metal, wood or glass
Good to know
The colour comes from the material itself, so it cannot match a brand colour.
Deboss and emboss

Deboss and emboss

A metal die made for your logo presses into the material.

Debossing pushes the design down and embossing raises it. No ink is used, so the branding is felt as much as seen, which suits leather goods and heavier paper stock.

Best for
Quiet, tactile branding on leather and paper
Good to know
Fine hairlines and very small type lose definition when pressed.
Heat transfer printing

Heat transfer printing

Artwork is printed onto a transfer sheet, then pressed onto the garment with heat and pressure so it bonds to the fibres.

Because the design is printed first, it can carry full colour, gradients and fine detail that screen printing cannot, and it works for one piece or a hundred.

Best for
Full colour logos on fabric and apparel
Good to know
Works best on flat panels. Very large solid areas can feel heavy on thin fabric, so we usually keep designs compact.
Foil stamping

Foil stamping

A heated die presses reflective metallic foil onto the surface, leaving a clean, solid mark with a mirror sheen that catches the light as the piece moves.

It is usually kept for the logo rather than large areas of artwork. Finishes include gold, silver, rose gold and holographic.

Best for
A premium accent on packaging and gift sets
Good to know
One colour per pass. Large solid areas can show pinholes, so small marks and type hold best.
